Keys to Website Success
Dear Clients and Friends,
I hope that November was a great month for all of you, and that Thanksgiving was particularly special.
Once a month I send out short advice on website success.
One of the keys to website success is learning to generate traffic to your website. There are two ways of doing this. You can attract business to your website by using online advertising, and making your website attractive to search engines like Google, or Bing. You can also direct traffic to your website through your business.
Using your current business systems to direct traffic to your website is the easiest way to begin making use of your website. Simple steps like placing your website on business cards, brochures, yellow page ads, bill boards, signs, and other business materials is a great way to start. Don't forget to include it in your voicemail messages!
Spontaneous traffic can also be generated with online ads.The key to online ads is location. If your local newspaper has a website, that might be a good place to start. Ads that show up when people search for things related to your business on Google or Yahoo are also good bets. If you're interested in developing an online marketing campaign, Jireh Web Design is offering a free $50 starter credit for Google AdWords, and $10/hour to develop e-marketing campaigns.
The key to attracting potential customers from search engines is three fold; keeping your website fresh and new with changing content; making your website useful to your potential customers; and generating traffic. One of the easiest ways to keep your website fresh and new is with a Blog. A short update daily, weekly, or even monthly, on business activities and specials helps to keep your website relevant. Making your website useful to customers can come in many forms. If you're a doctor, you might put your Patient History Form on your website, like the Hadrych Foot and Ankle Center. If you're a cemetery, like Meadowview Memorial Gardens, you might include recent obituaries on your website.
Sincerely,
Heston Glenn
